New Club joins the Hub
On Tuesday night we had the privilege of meeting Fiona and Gregg from Swim-IT club and they spoke about bringing disability into sport. Fiona explained that they have 120 disabled youngsters of all ages who love swimming yet there has not been the support she was hoping for. The hub have decided to join forces with Fiona and Gregg to work on an all inclusive open day at Livingston Cricket club on Sunday 28th July.
We celebrate our first birthday as a hub on that day and what better way than to have all levels, all ages coming together to try out different sports? Gregg is chairman of Disability in Sport and spoke of how he is trying to increase the amount if disabled people using sport to have fun, learn new skills and find friendships. It was great too that Fiona and Gregg have joined the hub to promote swimming in the community. We welcome them both and look forward to supporting them.
On a different note. Well done to Andy Bull for obtaining planning permission for the tennis courts to go ahead at the Cricket Club. He has worked so hard and met different levels of oppositions to get this new adventure off the grounds. It will be good for the community and for sport. Look forward to the grand opening in the coming months. Watch this space on what we will be doing for our birthday celebrations.
